61 years old never joined an angling club before.

The quality of the MVAS waters and there surroundings are what attracted me to this club.

Thank you for processing my membership so quickly.

Best wishes

Just a quick hello, as have recently joined after taking a bit of a break from fishing other than the odd session in recent years.  I used to fish the Stour Valley waters under the Mid Kent Fisheries ticket, mainly for the big tench (and still a member of the Tenchfishers after many years) and some carping.  But work in London, family (and football!) meant it was increasingly hard to find the time.  Anyhows, am hoping to do a bit on the rivers/canal (fancy a river carp).  I used to fish the strectch of the RMC as a teen (many years ago!), so fancy going full circle for a go on there.  Plus with a few waters around Ashford where I live, possibly will have a look at Hothfield, Hinxhill and Aldington.

Cheers for the quick turnaround of the membership pack etc. and for help getting registered on here and fb.

Just a silly observation on the starring system, I've gone from 2 stars to 3 stars and from Roach to Pearch! What is a Pearch?

I've tried to renew my membership on line - however the Paypal link recognises my email address but won't accept my usual password Huh

I can't find a way to enter a credit card payment instead of paypal - is it possible to pay online other than via paypal ?

If not are you taking postal renewals at present ?

Club Championship Result - River Medway Barming - 26th January 2020.
Posted by: Medway Mick - 27-01-2020, 09:27 AM - Forum: Season 2019 - 2020 - No Replies

A bumper 28 anglers fished the penultimate Club Championship on a mild River Medway at Barming. Bream were the order of the day with only a few Roach finding the net as seen in the results.
Graham Parkin and Alan Johnson on the two end pegs finished 1st and 3rd respectively with Paul Humphrey taking 2nd from unfancied peg 8. All had Bream as the bulk of their weight.
In the overall placings, Paul stretched his lead over Michael by another 2 points but there's still all to play for in the final match. Mick crept ahead of Joe in the race for 3rd place.
Thanks again to Paul Andrews who assisted in the weigh in.

Barming Float only (eventually) results 8/12/19
Posted by: MikeRose - 08-12-2019, 10:23 PM - Forum: Season 2019 - 2020 - No Replies

Barming Float only (third attempt) results
Sun 8/12/19

After two failed attempts to hold this match that the constant rainfall had put paid to we finally made it out on the Medway at Barming for the float only with the river looking in decent shape, although pushing a bit more than many would have liked (strange how we all moan about it not flowing and then moan when it flows too much ?). Yet again the weather wanted to play it's part with strong downstream winds making the waggler difficult for many and hampering presentation on the pole, although thankfully not as bad as forecast. 19 anglers were brave enough to fish with the river throwing up some decent weights after a week of frosts that can often see it switch off, the last couple of mild days certainly helping.
Leading the way from peg 18 was Roger Carpenter who posted 4lb 10ozs 8drms of roach to narrowly pip Guy Usmar from end peg 1 who had a bream making up the majority of his 4lb 8ozs. Final podium position was Michael Wright with 2lb 11ozs 4drms on flyer peg 14 (Trevor will be disappointed you didn't make that peg count Slips in!) with two late chub from peg 17 for Garry Frew not quite enough for him to beat Mick with his 2lb 3ozs 8drms only good enough for fourth.
Biggest mention of the day goes to the one, the only, the legend that is....  Jimmy Randall who managed just one bite late on to not only take the scalp of the Medway master Mick himself, but also win his section!!!
